What does FUE hair transplantation mean?
The latest hair transplant procedure available in international medical practice today is the so-called Follicular Unit Excision – FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) hair transplant method. The FUE hair transplant involves the extraction of individual follicular units from the donor area through tiny incisions (We transplant the patient’s own hair from the donor area, typically from the permanent hair at the back and sides of the head, or sometimes from the beard). The FUE hair transplant, performed unit by unit, is the most widespread, popular, and effective method in the world.
At Sikos Clinic, we perform our surgeries using the latest FUE hair transplant techniques. In the FUE hair transplant procedure, during hair extraction, the follicular units (grafts – follicular units) to be transplanted are individually circumscribed with a special micro-surgical punch under high magnification, and the small tissue cylinders containing the hair follicles (which are referred to as grafts from this point) are then extracted individually from the donor area. The grafts extracted this way are then implanted one by one into the balding area. This procedure ensures good hair growth, completely natural results, and excellent hair appearance.

FUE hair extraction from the scalp and viewed at the scalp level
WAW FUE SYSTEM
Since November 2016, we have been the first and only in Hungary to use the “WAW FUE SYSTEM” device and the accompanying “Hybrid Tornado” FUE needles. This system is based on several innovations that ensure even better quality for FUE hair extraction. The hair extraction device itself is a highly sensitive motor built into a pedal, which triggers the oscillatory movement of the punch blade (FUE needle) in the handpiece, ensuring easy and safe graft extraction, even in difficult-to-handle scalps. The accompanying “Hybrid Tornado” FUE needles are also designed for injury-free FUE hair extraction.
The WAW FUE System 2.0, with wireless Bluetooth application, allows for even more precise and efficient adjustments of the hair extraction tool, punch needle speed, oscillation, and penetration angle via phone or tablet. The enhanced version, the WAW DUO FUE SYSTEM, offers a wireless handpiece, new types of Tornado punches, and even more adjustment options!
ONE-DAY FUE hair transplant with a large number of grafts
One day, short hair surgery Highly professional treatments, transplantation of big amount of hairs as 2500- 3000 grafts ( cc. 5000-7000 hairs) /in one surgery/in one day/ in 6-7 hours. With our special practice at our clinic, we can quickly extract and transplant a large amount of hair in a short surgical time (we can extract 800-1200 complete, high-quality grafts per hour) using ultra-fine techniques. We only perform one-day hair transplants!
Every hair transplant leaves scars, but they are not visible, even with short hair. The incisions made by the FUE needles are circular, so even the 1 mm punch does not leave a larger scar than its smaller counterparts.
FUE hair transplants without shaving the hair
FUE hair transplantation typically involves full head shaving. In such cases, the hair on the donor area at the back and sides of the head, as well as on the recipient area at the front and/or back of the scalp, is shaved very short before the procedure. However, if our patient prefers not to have their hair shaved for the FUE hair transplant surgery, it is possible to perform the procedure while keeping the hair intact. In this case, neither the donor nor the recipient areas need to be shaved.
In the so-called “no shave FUE” procedure, approximately 1500-2000 grafts can be transplanted per day. If a larger number of grafts (3000-3500) need to be transplanted, a two-day surgery can be planned. The surgical fee differs from the standard “shaved” FUE hair transplant cost.
The FUE procedure heals without visible marks on the donor area!
In hair transplantation, we transplant the patient’s own hair from the permanent hair at the back and sides of the head. Before the surgery, the hair on the back and sides of the head is shaved to about 1 mm in length to properly apply the technique. In some cases, partial shaving (where only the donor area is shaved for the surgery) is also possible. After FUE hair extraction, small dot-like scars remain on the donor area. Within about 5-10 days after the surgery, the hair grows back, completely covering the surgical marks. In FUE extraction, the entire safe zone is available, and even after several surgeries, the donor area will not be thinned out to the extent that it would be visible or bothersome (so-called Donor Area Management).
